Angelique Williams, Principal

Angelique Williams, Principal
Angelique Williams brings more than a decade of experience in education, youth development, and school leadership to her role as Principal of Academy of Arts and Technology. With a passion for combining creativity, academic excellence, and student leadership, she is committed to creating an environment where every child feels seen, valued, and inspired to reach their full potential. Mrs. Williams holds Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Performing Arts from Cleveland State University. She is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Educational Leadership. She began her career as a Visual Arts and Theater teacher, inspiring students through both classroom instruction and after-school enrichment programs. She later served as Dean of Students and Director of School Culture, where she strengthened school climate, implemented restorative practices, coached teachers, analyzed student achievement data, and partnered with families to support student success. In addition to her work in schools, Mrs. Williams is the founder and executive director of Let Art Breathe, a nonprofit organization that partners with the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court to provide restorative justice and arts-based programming for youth. Through mentorship, creativity, and leadership development, she has helped young people build resilience, confidence, and life skills that prepare them for brighter futures. Mrs. Williams believes education has the power to transform lives because she experienced that transformation herself. A mentor in an after-school arts program helped her discover her own potential, inspiring her lifelong mission to help students find their voice, purpose, and confidence. She believes every child deserves an educator who recognizes their strengths and encourages them to dream bigger than their circumstances. As Principal, Mrs. Williams envisions Academy of Arts and Technology as a vibrant, arts-infused learning community where creativity enhances every subject and students are challenged to think critically, collaborate, and express themselves with confidence. She is dedicated to integrating the arts into daily instruction while maintaining high academic expectations, strengthening family partnerships, and empowering teachers with innovative instructional practices. She fosters a positive school culture by building meaningful relationships, maintaining high expectations, celebrating student growth, and implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) along with restorative practices that encourage accountability, leadership, and belonging. Outside of school, Mrs. Williams enjoys writing, directing theatrical productions, mentoring youth, reading, spending time with her family, and expanding the impact of Let Art Breathe. Whether leading a school, directing a stage production, or mentoring young people, her mission remains the same: to help others recognize the greatness within themselves and empower them to lead lives filled with purpose.

Outside of his career in education, Kyle enjoys singing and playing music with his band, reading, listening to vinyl records, exercising, and spending quality time with his family.
